Disabling WordPress Theme Updates Notification

This will stop a theme in question from producing update notifications. The use case can vary from holding out an update on free theme packages, —many bloggers choose to work with WordPress default theme suites— and like what I did, hold out an paid theme update. Ultimately, of course, it is advisable not to hold out on updates. Hopefully these developers would understand the frustration at some point.

Change Hostname in Ubuntu

I believe this is one of the occasions why I simply cannot recommend Ubuntu for the sake of accessibility. Any GUI-familiar users would expect the system settings to have some ways to handle hostname; both Windows and Mac have some form of it. And mosts users would expect the changes to be made system wide when a dedicated command is run. If an operating system is designed with GUI in mind, the bare minimum of that interface is to be streamlined enough so that the users do not have to jump back to CLI to make simple changes.

Disable Gameplay Recording Paused Notification on PS4

I would argue this decision against social networks put Japanese developers in certain time frame, where it is out of touch with most gamers. Not everyone shares video footage to do a complete and thorough walkthrough, where the game made bare and YouTuber walks off with ad revenues. And, even if most people were, the video game as a medium, enforces that one must play the game to actually know the game. I suspect these decisions will be slowly withdrawn in the next generation of consoles.

Instead of opening the platform up to social media and social media services, and frankly, to the internet, Sony chose to limit PS4’s sharing features to Blackberry generation of standards. Not only it should let cloud storage companies to add their own apps, they should have simply opened up the media folder on a local network.

When Macs with Nvidia Graphics Won’t Boot, with Full Loading Bar

This problem occurs when the provided Nvidia driver cannot communicate properly with the dGPU. Concurrently this issue is likely to arise when you are updating macOS, especially during the major OS upgrade. While this fix works as a patch job, ultimately I would suggest upgrading to a new computer within a year or two; macOS support lasts around 5-6 years and Nvidia’s Mac support is troublesome at best.

Uninstalling Built-in Apps on Windows 10

I am quite puzzled as to why Microsoft decided to bundle a series of adware. Unlike Ubuntu or Mac, Microsoft does have full control over its OS with no possible fallout. It can choose to include Microsoft Office, Skype, and its Zune Music. It can even create a store front dedicated to Microsoft ecosystem. Adding adwares barely worked in the 90s and simply 20 years too late.
