How to Add Volume Control to iOS Lock Screen

There are few options I always find odd that it’s tucked away in Accessibility on iOS. This is one of those odd occasions. On current version of iOS, if the device was playing media, it displays media control on the lock screen. Even better with the AOD, as the control is always visible. If the media control is visible, then why not the volume control?

Again, the settings to bring up the volume on the lock screen is in Accessibility. Seems like an odd place, but regardless: on Settings > Accessibility > Audio & Visual > toggle “Always Show Volume Control”. The description makes it clear the option is to display the control on the lock screen, and the volume control can handle both the headphones and the built-in speakers.

Or, if you would prefer to simply search it, it does show up immediately on the Settings app. Search for volume control, and that is the only result (at least on my device) it returns. But again, I believe the terminology is a bit ambiguous; without looking at the fine prints, it is impossible to tell it’s actually meant for the lock screen.
