How to Fix Logi Options+ Not Launching on macOS
This is a PSA for Logitech users. As of Jan 6, 2026 GMT, Logitech has failed to update its app, Logi Options + with a new certificate. If you are having trouble launching the app, there is a temporary solution that will work only on a limited environment (e.g. personal computer, not work computer).
Logitech has since issued an update. Please check the bottom of the page for the link.
First thing first, let’s determine the problem still is the certificate on the machine. Run the following command by copy-pasting it to the terminal:
codesign --display --extract-certificates /Applications/logioptionsplus.app
openssl x509 -in codesign0 -inform der -text | grep -o "Not After :.*"
If it says “Not After : Jan 6 20:39:41 2026 GMT”, like it did mine, and having the issues with Logitech products and Options+ at the time you are reading it, the certificate is likely the reason why the Options+ is hanging. Do be mindful the command will also create codesign* files. It is safe to delete them.
The band-aid fix, therefore, is simple and brute. Simply change the system clock anytime prior to Jan 6. It could be set to 2025 at the same date for your convenience, or so on. But for any work computer or any computer that has to connect to the network constantly, the band-aid fix is likely going to cause more problem than it solves. I recommend waiting for Logitech to update the certificate.
update Jan 7, 2026: There is now a patch available from Logitech website. Due to the certificate issue also affecting the automatic update, the patch has to be downloaded manually.
