Skin Deep (2025) Spiel

Back when Hitman (2016) was released, I remember an old friend of mine telling me how the stealth formula in the popular franchise is simply getting too old. The AI of these NPCs never work together. And each iteration did try to amp up AI behavior, but it hasn’t changed so drastically. It did give enough room for players to waltz in the high security zones and assassinate targets; it created some amazing speed runs. It has its own unique quirky funs, but it never made that smooth spy movie-like infiltration gameplays.

The Wandering Earth Spiel

The Wandering Earth is a trilogy loosely based on a sci-fi novella by the same name, and this is the first installment of the franchise. I won’t be talking about the novella or the author in depth. But I can add a bit of context for anyone who is wondering what it is in the first place. Quite literally, in the movie, the humanity has decided to literally “move” the Earth out of the solar system as the Sun is about to engulf the planet.

Sci-fi has a weird tick. Sci-fis I’ve read, watched, and played usually begin with a genius —a genius who makes the breakthrough. It is a breakthrough none has ever witnessed, and it is a breakthrough that will be a new founding of a future society. And the story arc of the world builder often correlates with the quality of the said sci-fi universe.

Crying Suns Review

It’s tough to write a tangible review on any rogue-like games, especially the ones that claim to be directly inspired by something else. Crying Suns is claiming to be inspired by at least four different renowned games. An ultimate sci-fi fanfic-based retro game is what Crying Suns is supposed to be. And it did exactly that: a fanfic.
