How to Use Apple Music Classical on PC
This one is a PSA for Apple Music Classical users — a separate app for classical music. Despite Apple’s delayed release of Classical app for PCs, for both Mac and Windows, it is possible to use web UI Apple has built to enjoy near identical experience of what you would get on smartphones or tablets.
Apple Music Classical has a web interface where you can find by albums, artists, composers, catalogue numbers, and etc. These are features that were desperately needed for classical music interface in general. While Music app does have its smart features, but it’s not quite elegant enough to simply find ‘I want to see all the recordings done by different players of one movement’. It’s a great app, albeit missing on PC, to venture into the classical genre. After all, Music app seems to serve more contemporary genres the best.
There are two downsides to this methods: a. only the albums that are listed on Apple Music (i.e. no uploaded or purchased albums) will be shown, b. there is no guarantee of audio quality, as far as I could see. There is no solution for neither. Especially the audio stream on the web player seems to be limited to 256kbps AAC. I would suggest using native apps on the machine to listen to the actual music, and use Apple Music Classical web environment to navigate.
