This post is for the documentation purpose. Looking back, most people would immediately find the solution before questioning all the other myriads of avenues of possibilities like I did. Long story short, fixing the problem wasn’t the issue. It was why it happened that boggled my mind.
How to List CPython on Pyenv
Python, with its dominant status, does not have an easy way to install and kickstart the experience for beginners or anyone who simply wishes to run Python scripts. Fortunately, for most modern systems, it comes packaged with some version of Python — which is also inevitably an open invitation for disaster. Python has been changing rapidly since version 3, and some of the scripts written in post 3.0 era are inherently incompatible with historical versions that may have been shipped with the OS. This is where pyenv comes in.
The King is Watching Spiel
I have lost much hope for RTS genre. I am growing too old for it. Starcraft II was one of the recent real-time strategy I enjoyed, but that game came out in 2010. I recall the game and the genre in general progressively becoming more physically demanding to add more contents, until we saw Overlord or a game designed to automate or pre-program combat encounters. The King is Watching, in many ways, sits in between. It has a tick-based clock, but the game enforces the progress of “real time” in its own right.
Google to Roll Out Email Change Feature
I won’t name names, but there are services that do not let a user change the email address. It’s a hilarious oversight in systems, as two entirely different people may have similar email addresses. I was once given an email address of that is ridiculous short initials with illegible numbers attached. Soon as the organization shifted to Gmail, I had to set up an alias right away, otherwise it was not useable in any shape or form.
Is PC Ever Affordable?
When was it ever a good time to build a PC? And I’m not talking about simple web browsing and office work level of hardwares — the ones the hobbyists are building are never the most common spec. For hobbyists, there is a news we often see almost every year, like a halloween scare, ‘check your candy for razors’, that the price gouging is on going.
Shinkansen 0 Spiel
I am always bit confused about Chilla’s Art games. The developer has published many retro styled Japanese horrors, and as far as I could gather, games are never set post 2010s, the age of smartphones. There is always a digital camera, a flashlight, or a camcorder. The supernatural horror as we know it, or at least the one I grew accustomed to, rarely functions within the boundaries of current technologies. Shinkansen 0, as far as I know, is the only game that is set in contemporary world with onboard WiFi.
Faceminer Spiel
AI was the talk of the town during Christmas dinner, so I thought to give Faceminer a chance. Even before AI was such a hit, we — everyone who has seen the crypto ads on social media — have seen the whole mining rig as a business opportunity to ‘work from home’. It has been always been a brief talking point during light hearted dinners. What if we had bought ourselves a powerful workstation fit for crypto mining or local AI training to switch jobs?
The Operator Spiel
As a fan of Orwell series, a similar game released in 2016, The Operator immediately had my fullest attention with its retro take on agent-handler system. The retro futurism from the 90s was wild, and the game does not shy away from it. The media thought ancient computer systems hooked up to a CRT monitor could handle nation-wide surveillance and advanced softwares to zoom in beyond the tinest pixels.
Trade-in and E-waste
It’s nearing the end of the year, and before we start preparing Christmas gifts some of my friends and I started discussing how are we making rooms of new stuffs. Or to put it more bluntly, we were asking each other how we are getting rid of old electronics.
Steam Deck 2 and PS6 Handheld
In the beginning of current generation consoles, there were questions as to why Nintendo seems to be fighting a different kind of competition. Gamers generally buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo-branded games, and currently Nintendo Switch line of products (at the time of writing, Switch 2 has been on the market for half a year). It meant that for gamers seeking specifically Nintendo’s curated game selections and Nintendo’s own offerings, there are no alternatives.
iRobot Bankruptcy, Robots, and Smarts
iRobot filed for Chapter 11. The news shouldn’t surprise anyone. Since the Amazon deal faltered, it seemed only a matter of time until some form of reorganization is needed. This bankruptcy may be that catalyst, a second chance. That’s likely the business side of iRobot’s saga. I believe the current downfall of iRobot has less to do with robots themselves, but softwares or “smarts”.
Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K, Slim) Spiel
It is quite unusual for a manufacturer to include readable description such as (10k, Slim) in its product name, but part of me thinks it is at least comprehensible than some random numbers we see on some generic electronics. For clarification purposes, I would like to add the one I’m discussing in this post is the slim version that is launched in 2025 with no screens or stands. It’s purely a power bank that is slimmer than the previous 5k one.
How to Band-aid Fix Bose Portable Speaker Slow or No Charging
I can’t speak for all Bose speakers — this might be an issue only with older models. One I have is SoundLink Revolve II, a cylinder-shaped speaker with an optional charging cradle. I use my speaker to play music or radio (via smartphone app) while showering or doing morning routines. It’s great for what it is as it is water-resistant. But it gets quickly annoying once it starts having charging problems.
Routine Spiel
Routine is, or was, a game in development hell for 13 years. Announced in 2012 with the release window set in 2013, it is no wonder the talks I could find on the game are largely the pure surprise on the mere fact it had not been fully abandoned. No doubt with 13 years of development the game has gone through major changes in directions as well. As a gamer, fortunately, I was not waiting in limbo for 13 years as some of the eager players must have been.
How to Band-Aid Fix Stellaris Deep Space Citadel Construction on 4K
Stellaris has come the long way since its 1.0 release. I, for one, only heard about the franchise after 2.0, but I can certainly attest to the fact that the game has seen major changes that would affect not only min-maxing, but general rule of the games entirely. One such occasion is actually the added megastructures. Yes, the earlier space empires did not have the luxury of Arc Furnace or Dyson Swarm. My point is, do not be alarmed by the fact the game has issues with one type of megastructures — it will be fixed, just don’t know when…
