It’s been a long holiday week in South Korea, and with long holiday, I had some tinkering to do on all of my browsers. Safari on both macOS and iOS do support ‘read later’ feature with possible options to sync over cloud and save locally. It is a feature handy for short term usage, but with Apple’s “it just works” approach to the feature itself, it lacks reliability needed for long term storage and usage.

I do hope I wouldn’t need to come up with even more type-friendly password generators than this version. After making two, one for generic, one for copy-paste, versions of password generators, I am now hit with one of the weirdest policies I’ve encountered yet: there were different limits on how many digits and special characters a password can have. I don’t have a word to describe the misery I felt. At least the website in question supported up to 16 characters long password.

One of the Korean apps have “upped” their security policy demanding now I type the password which is likely 20 or more characters, completely random, on a virtual keyboard. If you have never used one of those, it’s like a touchscreen keyboard, except all the locations are scrambled. Typing 20+ characters on those keyboard is an arduous task.

I’ve tried AirPods, AirPods Max, and AirPods Pro. Of them three, AirPods Pro grew on me recently as I began to use my prescription glasses more often — headphones, no matter how comfortable it sits around the head, still has some force on the legs of the glasses. Since the release of AirPods Pro 2 in 2022, noise canceling earbuds came long way. Some of the reviews from 2024 and earlier this year openly recommend to take a risk with lesser known brands for better bang for the bucks.

It’s a Dead Space like game, but with neither the horror nor unique game mechanic the classic had; frankly, it’s more Resident Evil in 1980s Poland with the whiff of Twilight Zone.

iPhone Air, Foldable iPhone, and iPad
There are rumors iPhone Air is a stepping stone toward a possible foldable iPhone set for 2026, 27, or even 28. Some are already speculating Apple will adopt foldable form factor starting with iPhone 18; hence, they added, iPhone 17 is less likely to succeed from the usual upgrade cycle. We won’t know the sales figure for a while, but I’m seeing two contradictory coverages on the new iPhone — either it was an unusual flop, or it was unusually high in demand, especially the base iPhone.

The new AirPods, AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 3, do not have a physical button on the case — both AirPods now have capacitive touch sensor on the front of the case instead. iOS 26 introduced a new AI feature called Call Screening. It’s a feature that’s been touted several times on “what is possible” with the AI assistant, and I am curious to find out whether or not Siri would be useful enough to actually answer the calls. As far as I am aware, similar features were not well received by the users.

I believe Dwarf II crowdfunding started back in 2021. I barely knew about the first Dwarf device, so when I heard the rumors of the new “smart” telescopes, I kinda wished I hadn’t invested so much on short tube telescopes already. There is something fundamentally beautiful, different even, being able to see through what the night sky hides from bare eyes — but being able to see something only through computational imaging can see, without much works or equipments, and converse about the observations, that was something I could not do on my own with traditional telescopes.
App to Replace Launchpad on macOS 26 Tahoe
macOS 26 Tahoe does not have Launchpad. If you were not using it, Launchpad is an iOS-like feature on the Mac side to arrange and view apps on pseudo Home Screen. Whether or not you use Launchpad is irrelevant I suppose; at least for Apple, the company has already decided it wasn’t a popular feature. It was introduced in Mac OS X Lion, but the feature hasn’t seen any updates either.
