How to Remedy Hotfix #30 Graphical Glitches on Baldur’s Gate 3

In the recently released Hotfix #30, there is a known issue on Baldur’s Gate 3 where the game starts to have graphical glitches once fast-traveled to a different location. On DirectX 11 mode, the screen simply goes dark except for the UI; on Vulcan, the screen’s color is distorted to pink or purplish hue. It does happen randomly. There were times it didn’t affect me after fast-travel.

As far as I am aware, and from what I could test on my own, there isn’t one specific setting that is causing it. It is also hitting different platforms at the same time. So the communities are eagerly waiting for Larian, the developer, to issue an update.

Remedies

There are two ways to remedy the problem for the time being: one. travel to the campsite, or two. toggle the photo mode on and off. I personally prefer latter as you cannot travel to camp in hostile ground. The default shortcut for the photo mode is F9, in case you need it.

On Multiplayer sessions, only the host can trigger the photo mode — it puts the entire game on hold. So if you are fast-traveling, I suggest waiting until all party members have arrived. In all likelihood, there is a good chance at least one will have graphical glitches.
