How to Remedy Hotfix #30 Graphical Glitches on Baldur’s Gate 3

In the recently released Hotfix #30, there is a known issue on Baldur’s Gate 3 where the game starts to have graphical glitches once fast-traveled to a different location. On DirectX 11 mode, the screen simply goes dark except for the UI; on Vulcan, the screen’s color is distorted to pink or purplish hue. It does happen randomly. There were times it didn’t affect me after fast-travel.

How to Change Language on PS5 for Titles with Multi-Language Support

It’s one mouthful how-to post title, but the premise is simple for those of us who need this feature. There are PS5 titles that are sold under multi-language support, but the game itself simply lacks the language settings. For example, recently I found out Unicorn Overlord is sold with Chinese and Korean support in PlayStation Korea; the only problem is, my console being set in English, the game defaults into Chinese instead of Korean or English.

Monster Hunter: Wilds Spiel

Monster Hunter franchise had lots on its shoulders —it’s been 21 years since the first title was released in 2004. World, previous title for non-portable devices from 2018, had introduced new set of features to entice new gamers. Wilds, on the other hand, had to compete against plethora of other RPGs that are quite literally giant killers in its own accord.

How to Port Forward PS Remote and PS Portal

This one is a collective study post. As far as I could find, Sony hasn’t released an official documentation on which ports are needed to use PS Remote and PS Portal. Official support documents and manuals for the PS Portal make no mentions of the matter, let alone for the PS5 console networking features.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Spiel

Atlus does not make an easy game to hop on. The developer is behind one of those franchises that predates modern gaming conventions, ones that are hard sell for new gamers. Not only playing all the previous installments be nearly impossible without getting one’s hands on a retro console, the games are simply too dated to deliver that wow factor it had back in the days. Before I started playing Metaphor: ReFantazio, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to get into Megami Tensei —it is technically not part of the IP—, as the classic franchise itself started back in…

How to Metaphor: ReFantazio: Grind in Late Game

Metaphor: ReFantazio does offer lists of side quests to level up the party to prepare for the next big battle, that is, up until the new dungeon area, Skybound Avatar, is unlocked for the final-final confrontation. At this point, I had access to few other bounties, few dungeons, and some candidate encounters. Finishing them all, aside from Dragon Trials, left my main character at level 54 with 20 days left and no other activities that would help me to prepare for Louis battle as all other NPCs were begging me to do.

Callisto Protocol Spiel

There is some irony in that a remake of original Dead Space and the alleged spiritual successor Callisto Protocol came out in the same year. Unfortunately, neither games have performed well to carry on the torch that is the horror sci-fi. The latest news I could find on either of the IPs were that neither developers are currently working on the sequel or remake of a sequel. There are still more contents than the original game such as comics, short videos, novels, and DLCs; I don’t know if publications of all manners have stopped. Instead I will keep my focus…

The Entropy Centre Spiel

Portal is a master piece. Allow me to rephrase that: Portal 2 is the master piece. The influential puzzle platformer only became independent from Half-Life since its sequel, and it set some ground rules for FPS puzzle genre in its age. And the rules still stand firm, as many games since have tried to overthrow or succeed unsuccessfully, yet again proving why Portal was such a pivotal piece of our time.

Industria Spiel

East Berlin, on the fateful night of the fall of the Berlin Wall, is when Industria is not set. Yes, you read the copy correctly. The game supposedly begins with East Germany, but the game takes place in the city of Hakavik, a place not in East Germany. Its prologue hints the beginning of the journey, but hardly a fitting description for a video game which its primary focus is in narrative storytelling.

How to Move Save Data from PlayStation Plus Cloud Storage

The title of this post is rather wordy than it should be. If you are planning to subscribe to PlayStation Plus in another account for myriad of reasons, this is the process you want it done BEFORE the subscription runs out. The emphasis is well-deserved, as you would lose access to your cloud storage immediately after the subscription runs out, and Sony doesn’t offer read-only access to the expired storage. (note: save datas on the cloud is stored for up to 6 months, though anecdotally users have reported it’s often longer than that)

Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1-3 Spiel

Poppy Playtime as an indie horror game has a special place in many PC gamers’ heart. There is no doubt it has a special place in my heart as well, only that place doesn’t happen to coincide with “great” in “great-ok-fail” scale. Chapter 1 went viral as a new IP in horror with its focus on intense chase sequence. Its survival horror predecessors built chase sequences around the stealth mechanics, whereas the new comer created a almost film-like, action oriented sequence that is still true to the tone of the horror while providing smooth transition in each moment of desperation.

Silent Hill 2 (2024) Spiel

My first Silent Hill was Silent Hill 4: The Room; though I couldn’t push myself through the end. It might come as a surprise, but by the time I was interested in the franchise, I didn’t have the old consoles to play the OG titles. All old franchises suffer from the similar problem; average modern players simply don’t have the old hardwares, be it may consoles, or a gaming PC running Windows XP, to run the old game. The one I actually played all the way through for the first time was Silent Hill: Origins. Long story short, I simply…

How to Silent Hill 2 (2024): Melee E. Dombrowski

Hopefully using his last name instead of his first name helped with the spoiler tags. If you want to find out who the boss is for yourself now is the chance to avert thine eyes. Silent Hill 2 came out in 2001, and there are simply too many medias influenced by the legend itself, so I was one of those people who knew about the boss beforehand without playing the original.

Superliminial Spiel

I don’t know what makes puzzle-solving as a genre so ripe with indie games. The Portal franchise started as an indie project until Valve scooped them up, more recent Baba Is You is a literal indie game filled with programmer jokes. Perhaps it’s the financial limitations that translate into developments, or the metas and homages the indie developers wanted to play with. But ultimately what makes your game independent from its heritage should not be the money nor amount of respects it’s paying.

PS5 Pro, 4K TV, and HDR

The new PS5 Pro is released at $699.99, and I’m here to ask a question: Is a gamer not entitled to sweat of —I meant— pixels of his consoles? Enough Andrew Ryan quotes, but it is a serious question nonetheless. At $700, PS5 Pro has a tough battle ahead of it to win the spotlight in the entertainment room. And that rivaling champion is no other than the TV itself.
